Things To Do
The V&A museum is such a fun place to visit in London!
Wander through the treasure-filled halls from around the world, spanning centuries of art, design, and culture. Marvel at iconic fashion pieces in the Fashion Gallery, from elegant gowns to avant-garde creations. Delve into the intricate details of historical artefacts. Explore the innovative design concepts in the Design Gallery.
Oh, and make sure to check out the interactive displays that bring art to life, from immersive installations to multimedia exhibits.
DIVA at V&A
Step right up on the red carpet glamour, experience the ultimate star power and channel your inner Diva at the V&A's DIVA Exhibition. Follow the personal stories of power, resilience and ambition from some of the best-known Divas! You will explore the lives of iconic performers like Dusty Springfield, Dolly Parton, Lizzo, Kate Bush, Dame Shirley Bassey, Nina Simone, Lady Gaga and more!
The exhibition looks into the origins and definition of Diva and how it has changed over time! You will see some iconic costumes like Jessica Bara's beaded dress, Tina Turner's showstopping flame dress and Rihanna's alaia leather-band dress. Plus you'll get to see some memorable paintings and snippets from the lives and performances of the biggest Divas in the world!
We love that the exhibition offers an immersive visitor experience! You get smart headphones which play relevant songs based on which part of the exhibition you are at! How clever is that?!
V&A for families
The Victoria & Albert Museum hosts a range of free activities for families to enjoy every day! There are hands-on family events and performances during the school holidays.
The programme is designed for all ages and encourages play and learning through the V&A collection and temporary exhibitions. These family events are a great way to find out about art and design in an enjoyable way and spend some creative time together!
The activities are aimed at children aged 5-12 years old, but many can be enjoyed by under 5s.
Food and Drink
All of that learning can make you hungry! Make sure to stop by the V&A cafe for a delicious range of barista-made coffee, and pastries as well as hot and cold meals. Children can even pick their own lunchtime meal box!
They also offer cakes and freshly baked scones - we think that cakes are the perfect museum snacks! What do you think?
