Yesterday my husband took my son to the farm. They met with two friends with their respective children. After a long time spent having fun visiting and feeding the animals, they went to the cafe' for lunch. My husband bought a coffee, a sandwich and a book for my son and spent around £20 (after having spent at least £10 around the farm to feed the animals, playing with the coin machine and donating money). He had brought a sandwich from home for our son as he can be a fussy or no eater when he is outside. Their friends were joining for lunch, the two adults intending to get lunch from the café for them having brought snacks for their children. They were all chased out of the café because they had some home brought food. The staff was very rude! They sat outside in what looks like a picnic area. The café manager came and chased them away with such rudeness and malpractice! I was horrified to hear the story. We have been visiting the farm regularly, all our friends do. A friend of mine even had her son's party at the café before the café was open to the public! I have been signing petitions and campaigning to fund the farm and open the cafe'. I have been donating money to the far for years! I was not expecting such mistreatment! I think this café may be the downfall of the farm! I think the staff of the farm having to be very careful how they treat the community! There may be even donors amongst the mistreated people! Funnily enough I assessed an application for funding from the farm to the Charitable Trust I work for. I will not be surprised if this farm closing soon! There are so many wonderful places in London to take our children. There are so many parks and farms around us! The competition is fierce. I will no longer visit this farm and I will stop being an advocate and supporter.
Great Day out
