Attraction Information
At Treasures Of The Earth explore the painstakingly recreated caverns, caves and mining scenes and discover the amazing crystals and geodes u to 7ft tall! The atmospheric environment makes it a wonderful experience for kids, plus it's loaded with fossils and bones and a trove of gems and jewels!
The UV Cave is a show-lit section with speciality light effects adding even more magic to the geology, with stunning refractions and reflections to mesmerise your minds.
In a separate display, you can also learn about the history of the Scottish end of the Gold Rush and the largest gold nugget ever found! Great for school age kids particularly.
None of the simulated environments are at all intimidating, and the UV Cave is pretty rather than abrasive, so most kids will really enjoy the exhibits. You may find that despite it not being underground kids (and indeed grown-ups) who do not enjoy enclosed spaces may want to give it extra consideration, though access and egress are fairly simple so should one wish to withdraw swiftly it's simple to.
You can extend the fun a little further by accessing the attraction by train, as it's easy walking distance from Corpach Railway Station which is on the Fort William to Mallaig line.
