Attraction Information
Thousand Islands Expeditions offer wildlife adventure boat trips around the lovely Ramsey Island RSPB Nature Reserve.
You can jump on an exciting jet boat or a leisurely traditional boat with your wildlife guide. Set off across the fast currents to search for porpoise feeding in the white water in Ramsey Sound. Look out for Atlantic Grey Seals in the bays and their fluffy white pups (born August, September and October). See how many varieties of seabirds you can spot whilst looking up at some of the highest sea cliffs in Wales.
Alternatively, why not spend a great day out on Ramsey Island RSPB Nature Reserve. A warden will meet you as you land on the island for an introductory talk in the display room, you will then receive a brochure with the paths marked on and you are free to explore the island with your family. Look out for Red Deer on the high land, wild ponies roaming, Peregrine Falcons flying overhead, the famous Ramsey Chough and lots of seabirds. Bring a picnic and enjoy the scenery.
For the more adventurous join us on one of our offshore trips. See the spectacular Grassholm Island, 39,000 breeding pairs of giant white gannets, Atlantic Grey Seals play in the water around the island. We head further offshore searching for Common Dolphins who love to jump around the boat and if you are really lucky, maybe a sighting of a magnificent whale. We pass playful Puffins, strange Sunfish and porpoise.
