Attraction Information
The How Hill Trust is primarily an environmental education facility working with school groups. They also offer adult courses and residential courses, but for our purposes they also have some great little features available to the public.
The How Hill Staithe and Toadhole Cottage visitor centre is the local resource centre for picking up trail and map information, but also importantly to get your tickets for the Electric Eel boat trips! An unusual and educational wildlife jaunt will give you the chance to see some of these creatures in their natural habitat and understand them better through informed guided commentary.
Seasonal activities available here include the How Hill Nature Tots programme for 2 to 4 year olds with guided outdoor sessions with activities including mini beast hunting, den building and simple orienteering.
Please note that the house itself and it's own gardens are not open to the public. The grounds surrounding the private ones however and the whole of How Hill Staithe is available for family exploration!
