So, you've arrived in the underground city of Edinburgh and you've begun your immersive journey but what should you expect?
Prepare to be spooked by an array of indoor attractions! The site plays host to some of the saltiest characters in Scotland’s history, including prolific serial killers and their torturous wardens. Their horrible history will be brought to life before your very eyes and trust us, they’re only for those with strong stomachs! Oh, expect a smidge of the Black Plague too...
Meet a famous lineup of costumed characters like the ferocious and legendary witch, Agnes Finnie; the murderous duo, Burke and Hare and the infamous cannibal, Sawney Bean. You’ll find him in the caverns of Galloway, just make sure he doesn’t find you first!
Throughout 11 live special effects shows on 360-degree stages, you’ll be thrown right into the grizzly action. That includes the stench of Edinburgh, and pre-proper sewage systems! Take a boat ride, explore a labyrinthine mirror maze or accuse or be accused in the new to 2017, Witch Hunt. It’s all raucous fare but given the strong content, isn’t appropriate for young kids or those with a nervous disposition. If you have a dark sense of humour - you'll love it.
Listen to the gruesome stories - there's many to choose from. From a story about body snatchers to witch trials, these hair-raising tales will have your heart pounding. Take a walk down the Auld Reekie (Old Smelly) road but be quick, you never know who's around the corner...

1-2 hours of horror, storytelling and underground rides are enough to make anyone famished! So where should you go for a bite to eat? Unfortunately, there are no onsite food & drink facilities however, the Edinburgh Dungeon has lots of great recommendations with some restaurants having a twisted history behind them too...

Rail & Train
The Edinburgh Dungeon is a 2-minute walk from Waverley Train Station. Take the Market Street exit, turn right onto East Market Street and you'll see them in about... 30 seconds!
Bus
Edinburgh city centre is well served by Lothian Country Buses. Services which stop within immediate reach of the Dungeon’s stink are: 26, 67, 100 (Airlink), 41, 42, 1, 3, X12, 22, 25 X25, X26, 29, X29, 30, 31, 33, 34, X44, 113.
Tram
If you are taking a tram to the Dungeon, the nearest stop is Princes Street.
Car
Sadly there isn't a car park at The Edinburgh Dungeon but there are NCP car parks nearby on Castle Terrace and at Holyrood Road.
Plane
For visitors flying to Edinburgh, The Edinburgh Dungeon is approximately 35 minutes by bus or tram from Edinburgh Airport. The Airlink 100 bus terminates on Waverley Bridge, right beside the Dungeon. The tram terminates on Princes Street, just a walk away from the Dungeon.
Alternatively, taxis can be booked from within the Arrivals area at Edinburgh Airport.
