Experience the sights, sounds and - ahem - smells of Scotland’s grim history. The Edinburgh Dungeon is 80 minutes of immersive theatre, both hilarious and terrifying all at once!
The site played host to some of the saltiest characters in Scotland’s history, including prolific killers and their torturous wardens. Their stories will be brought to life before your very eyes and trust us, they’re only for those with strong stomachs! Meet a famous lineup of costumed characters like the ferocious witch, Agnes Finnie; the murderous duo, Burke and Hare and the infamous cannibal, Sawney Bean. You’ll find him in the caverns of Galloway, just make sure he doesn’t find you first!
Throughout 11 live special effects shows on 360-degree stages, you’ll be thrown right into the grizzly action. That includes the stench of Edinburgh, pre-proper sewage systems! Take a boat ride, explore a labyrinthine mirror maze or accuse or be accused in the new to 2017, Witch Hunt. It’s all raucous fare but given the strong content, isn’t appropriate for young kids.

Had an awesome day. The actors are so realistic, the drop ride at the end is so much fun. We all had a great day.
Scary but also fun

This was a great couple of hours to spend escaping the November Scottish weather. It’s a bit scary/jumpy at times, but not too bad for early teens and up I would say. Good if you want to tick “ghost tour” off your list when going to Edinburgh, but are too much of a scaredy cat for some of the more terrifying tours! The ride at the end was a lot of fun
