Attraction Information
There is so much to do for families and kids at Tenby Museum and Art Gallery!
From dressing up as intrepid explorers in the prehistory gallery (where you can handle recreated skulls and mammoth teeth!), to becoming a History Detective in the Story of Tenby Gallery, the fun never ends!
There are quizzes on pirates, a museum selfie opportunity, CBBC trials, dinosaur hunts and the chance to dress as a pirate, with cutlass, hook and eye-patch.
Although the museum looks small from the outside, it has been compared to a TARDIS and the museum has a big welcoming heart which extends into the displays.
In the archaeology gallery you can see skulls, teeth, axes and meteorites; in the museum you can find out more about the man who invented the equals sign (he was from Tenby!), learn about Henry Tudor's escape from the town, dress as an 17th century plague doctor, discover the story behind the pirate Leekie Porridge's arrest, create your own art work in the art gallery, measure yourself against a Tudor cannon, feel what it was like to wear a cork lifejacket like the 19th century lifeboatmen, find out about Roald Dahl's connection to the town and so much more!
As well has the tickets being valid for one year after purchase, the kids go free! Keep an eye out also for special events such as talks and storytelling. Even the public loo is special (it is decorated with kids drawings and known as the Loo-vre!).
