Attraction Information
Swanley New Barn Railway is a miniature railway (7 an a quarter inch gauge) situated in the green flag awarded 60 acres of Swanley Park, Kent.
The railway has 2 stations. One is adjacent to the main car park, where passengers take advantage of the train ride to carry picnics, bikes and other luggage, using their luggage carrying coach, along with themselves to the main attractions area situated next to their second and main station.
The main station, Lakeside, has 3 platforms, a ticket office, and an Ex BR signal box! The station also has a turntable at the far end that is used to turn every engine after arrival, helping it remain one of the busiest miniature stations and signal boxes anywhere in the world!
The railway mainly uses diesel engines, but these are supplemented by steam engines when volunteers are available.
The park itself also contains other top attractions including a paddling pool with splash park, an exciting main play area, plus a small children's play area and sand pit. There is also a boating lake with rowing and pedal boats, a bouncy castle, and battery cars and bikes!
