Attraction Information
Happened to be travelling to Argyll? Make sure you stop by St Conan's Kirk in Lochawe Village - it’s a quaint little church with a fantastic story. It was designed and built by Walter Campbell, a son who just wanted to save his mother the trouble of having to travel too far to visit the church in the next village.
Campbell was self-taught, so St Conan's Kirk has a truly unique architecture. There will be plenty of amazing features to discover as you walk around and explore. From a row of owls, to a hound waterspout chasing two hare water pipes, to a bone from Robert the Bruce - some of the things you’ll see will surprise you!
Feel free to spend a little longer in the gardens and soak in the amazing views of Loch Awe. If you’re visiting in the summer months, be sure to enjoy a treat at the atmospheric tea rooms.
