Set on 70 acres of rolling countryside is the family run Smithill Open Farm.
There are over 25 animals to meet. From traditional farm animals such as goats, cows, pigs and sheep to reptiles and more unusual species like Burmese pythons, there’s a lot to learn about and as a working farm there are always new arrivals!
Out in the grounds enjoy a tractor and trailer ride, a donkey ride or watch the cows being milked! If your children have some energy left over then the bouncy castle, assault course, adventure playground and sand pit should sort that out as you get chance to relax with a well-deserved cup of tea!

I love Smithills farm. The staff are friendly and the animals well cared for and nice and clean. We do find it a bit pricey if you want to come often. Do you have or would you consider an annual ticket (similar to Chester Zoo) ? Also, my small grandchildren are frustrated on the park area. They want to go on the slide ((swings) but can’t. Love the new ice cream parlour. Hope my comments haven’t offended. Meant to be constructive?
Nice day out

All the animals looked well fed the enclosures were clean. I thought there were way too many animals in one enclosure. The sheep could of done with more room to move about in if they are in the enclosure for most of the day. The petting corner is excellent.
