Attraction Information
The Shipwreck and Maritime Museum is set within a thriving craft village, and houses the largest exhibition of its kind in the whole of the UK! Packed with thousands of relics and treasures from the deep, including Spanish gold and other items salvaged from galleons, wartime submarines and steamships!
The “Wreck and Rescue” Lifeboat museum if full of fascinating displays of antique diving equipment, and the history of Isle of Wight lifeboats. Discover dramatic shipwreck stories, see models of ships and learn about pirate adventures. You will also get the chance to see action videos of local lifeboat rescues, plus displays about fishing and smuggling!
There are a number of activities to keep the kids entertained, including a Treasure Hunt, 'Crack the Code', brass rubbing and free Pirate Trail worksheets. There are free prizes for all completed activities.
There truly is something for everyone in this unique exhibition - ideal for budding pirates and mariners!
