Take an insight look into charity work at ShelterBox Visitor Centre in Truro. The whole family will have a chance to get involved in the interactive displays.
There’s always a helpful volunteer at hand to give you a tour and answer your questions about the mission of ShelterBox. Exploring the Visitor Centre often prompts kids to get involved in educational discussions about serious topics, such as disasters and war.
Take the opportunity to peek inside tents and shelters, and find out what it takes to move aid quickly to a disaster zone. Kids can get involved and pack up their own survival box. Working out what’s needed depending on the climate and handling a real survival kit keeps little ones engaged.
