Whether you’re fascinated by sharks or love with penguins, Sea Life Marine Sanctuary has a special underwater treat for all the family!
There are a massive thirteen zones to explore, getting you close to 1,000 amazing creatures in over 50 displays. Watch the rays break the surface with their wingtips and help to feed them at the end of the daily talk. Journey to the Great Barrier Reef and meet Nemo, before following in the footsteps of 20 cheeky penguins as you learn to waddle in the unique walkthrough penguin enclosure.
For the more daring of the group brace yourself for the Shark Encounter, see if you can spot the Black Tip Reef sharks and learn all about the threat of extinction of these misunderstood creatures. There’s even a chance to come face-to-face with 20 different species of crab, shrimp and other clawed creatures at the Claws: Invasion exhibition! Don’t forget to visit the Turtle Beach, Otter River, and the Seal Pool and enjoy the ambience of the Ocean Tunnel. You won’t want to come up for air!

There is a restaurant serving a selection of hot and cold food and an Outside Kiosk selling snacks and drinks. There are also refreshments available to purchase in a retail shop. If you prefer to bring your own lunch, there is a picnic area available outside.
Guide dogs are allowed.
Baby food facilities
There are baby food and milk warming facilities available.
The centre is fully disabled accessible however an alternative route is needed to avoid the stairs. Check their website for the full access statement. Stair lift available to take disabled guests upstairs to the restaurant and Turtle area.
The car park outside is operated by the local council and therefore charges do apply between March and November. Free parking is available up the road all day on Scalby Mills.
Use bus routes 9 and 9A for the Sea Life Centre
The nearest train station is Scarborough Railway Station and is approximately 10 minutes away in a taxi
