Salcey Forest, just seven miles away from Northampton, is the perfect place for families to escape into nature and explore the rich history of the area! With so many things to discover, explore and uncover in the magnificent woodland, it'll be an unforgettable family adventure!

Where to start?! The forest boasts miles of ancient wood banks, building remains, and some of the oldest trees in the region, including the 'druids', or veteran oaks, which provide rare and amazing wildlife habitats. Did you know that Salcey Forest is a huge ancient forest, dating back to Roman times? Now you do!

Fancy getting physical? Embark on a family cycling trail! With a flat, wide and smooth trail, it suits any levels of cycling and is a great way to build confidence too. If you prefer to walk, you'll find endless walking trails at Salcey Forest! From the Elephant Walk and Church Park to the Woodpecker Trail! Immerse yourself in the ancient woodland, keep your eyes out for an abundance of wildlife and spend some good ol' quality time with the family.

Oh! Did you know that your kids can embark on the Zog trail? Download the free app and set off to collect golden stars! Then you can snap a selfie with everyone's favourite dragon at the end. It's the perfect activity trail for the kids to get stuck into! That's not all that the kids can do though, Salcey Forest hosts other family-friendly activities, as well. Go wild on the adventure playground, where they can climb, swing and slide! How about hunting for minibeasts or doing a spot of bird spotting - it's all possible!  There are lots of ways to explore, including a family cycle trail, 3 walking trails and exciting adventure trails for little nature lovers. Whether you want to unwind and relax or get active and explore, Salcey Forest is the perfect place to create cherished memories with your loved ones.
