- Parks and Playgrounds
Suitable for all ages
Venue type: Outdoor
Due to machinery working on site for your safety, route diversions will be in place from 9th October up to 14th November. This will affect the Elephant Walk, the Church Path Walk, the Woodpecker Trail, the Cycle Trail and the Horse Trail. The rest of Salcey Forest, including the Salcey Forest Cafe and the Tree Top Way, is open as usual.
Salcey Forest is a huge ancient forest, dating right back to Roman times. There are lots of places to explore, cycle round and play in.
You can build dens, look out for forest animals, or if you are really adventurous, go up the Tree Top Way.
At the top of this amazing wooden walkway you can see right over Northampton and the surrounding countryside.
The Forest Cafe is a great place to stop for an ice-cream or a bite to eat, and it's right next to the play area. Two of the trails, including the Tree Top Way, are all-ability.
