Attraction Information
Rushen Abbey has substantial remains to wander through and you can also see where archaeologists have uncovered even more buildings below ground.
Take a stroll around the Abbey gardens, keeping an eye out for more remains as you follow a footpath to a 14th century Monk's Bridge in Silverdale Glen.
The Interpretation centre will fill you full of facts about the place, including it's current uses for strawberry teas and dances! There are a number of fun and creative activities and interactive displays, including the chance to dress up as a monk.
You will also get the change to try archaeology for yourself, plus watch film diaries and see excavations made by the professionals.
There is a table full of musical instruments, a chance to build a pot, and a play barn called the Jam Factory, plus outdoor toys and a picnic area.
A wicked day out for the whole family that is educational and loads of fun, whatever your age.
