Rufford Abbey Country Park has 150 acres of beautiful country park to explore and enjoy.

Visitors love spotting swans, ducks and those typically cheeky squirrels who may come begging for a treat! Spring is a wonderful time to visit with bluebells springing up in the woods. The Leafy Children’s Play Village is also a lovely way to keep kids busy as they explore the sandpit and tunnels.

For something scrummy, you’ll have plenty to choose from at the café, restaurant and tea shop. The hard part will be choosing what you want!

Main park entrance directly off the A614, 3 miles south of Ollerton. Secondary entrance off Rufford Lane (for Rufford Mill, Talbot Suite and Lakeside walks).

Rufford Abbey Country Park only close in case of heavy snow or ice.

Pets allowed

Dogs are welcome but must be on a lead within the park. No dogs in children's play areas for health reasons please.

Mostly outdoors so dress for our great British weather!

There are no baby food/milk warming facilities available.

Guest suitability

The site is mostly flat with good access for prams, pushchairs and wheelchairs. Mobility scooters for hire (tel 01623 821338.) All buildings except historic Abbey ruins accessible for wheelchairs / scooters.

Public transport

Bus 33 "Sherwood Arrow" stops at Rufford Abbey Country Park. There is a woodland path into park from bus stop (about 400 yards).
