See some of the greatest ships from modern history, learn what life was like beneath the waves or become a ninja warrior, all at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard. Anchors away!
While kids might not jump at the offer of an educational day out, this has plenty to keep fresh-faced seafarers busy. Learn about the ‘greatest naval battle ever fought’, or train like mini Royal Marines Commandos at Action Stations. You could even test your skills here on a Ninja Force assault course - essential for all sailors.
The dockyard is renowned for its fleet of famous ships; see Lord Nelson’s flagship HMS Victory, or marvel at the only surviving boat from the First World War’s Gallipoli Campaign. You can then experience what life would have been like at the bottom of the ocean in the Cold War submarine, HMS Alliance. Every one of them is an intriguing piece of history and for want of a better word, seriously cool to see in person.
