For centuries, curious visitors to Buxton have explored and marvelled at the natural subterranean world that is Poole's Cavern!
Known as the ‘First Wonder of the Peak' after an early travel guide published in 1630 Poole's Cavern became a popular attraction for wealthy visitors and even royalty.
Explore Poole's Cavern today with our expert guides and journey through the beautifully illuminated chambers to discover for yourself the magnificent underground scenery of the Peak District. With paved walkways and only 28 steps throughout the tour is suitable for all ages.

Our Visitor centre includes the Café at the Cavern with a wide range of delicious produce including daily specials, light snacks and fair trade coffee.
