Easter at Plas Newydd House and Gardens
23rd March – 1st April
This Easter it's time to get outdoors and into nature at Plas Newydd! With 40 acres of garden, 129 acres of woodland and parkland, and amazing views across the Menai Strait and onto the peaks of Eryri (Snowdonia) there’s plenty to explore!
As blossoms and tulips burst into bloom, join the Easter egg hunt and celebrate the arrival of spring with ten nature-inspired activities. Join the bee disco and show everyone where the best flowers are, put on your bunny ears and practice your hopping skills, create an outfit to outshine the brightest of butterflies, and become a flower bursting into life after its winter slumber. Psst...if you complete all the tasks, you can claim your chocolate egg or a vegan and Free From chocolate egg!
Afterwards, go head-to-head in a game of frisbee golf, explore the treehouse, see if you can spot a red squirrel, or run wild in Dairy Woods’ adventure playground. With its climbing frame, tunnels, bridges, balancing beams and stepping stones, there's plenty of fun to be had! It's also surrounded by picnic benches, so it’s the perfect place to stop for some lunch.
Things To Do
Family fun is no.1 on the agenda right? So it's a good thing there are plenty of fun family activities to try out with your little ones. From Rex Whistler's iconic 58-foot mural to 40 acres of impressive gardens and 129 acres of woodland!
Get your sporting hats on and try out the frisbee golf course - there are acres of garden to practice your throws and catches. There are lots of various woodland walks too, including a mesmerising marine walk along the Menai Straits.
Got some nature lovers in the family? Plas Newydd is a great place to spot red squirrels, so bring your binoculars and scour the treetops to see if you can spot one. They can be spotted throughout the woodlands, particularly in Church Bank Wood and along the edge of the Menai Strait.
The historic house is the home of the Marquess of Anglesey and offers spectacular views of Snowdonia! This is one of the UK's finest mansion house settings, and it also features emotive exhibitions in the military museum. Browse relics from the Battle of Waterloo or find out what life was like for the family back in the 1930s. Take a first-hand look at Rex Whistler's largest-ever painting.
Plus there's also the world's first articulated wooden leg to be found in The Museum, and you can visit a historical room which has been left untouched since its untimely departure by the 7th Marquess! Fine fuel for imaginative kids, dusty antiquities…
Plas Newydd offers an unbeatable adventure, fantastic views, extensive woodland walks, beautiful scenery and one of the prettiest houses in Wales!
