Attraction Information
The land aroundPicton Castle is at least as good as the castle itself, comprising 40 acres of some of the most beautiful woodland gardens and grounds in West Wales and beyond, so bring your camera and you can double up this soothing day out with taking some fantastic family photos.
Soak up the peaceful magic of nature as you stroll beneath some of the largest and oldest trees in West Wales (wheres Moon Face?), discover woodland walks, a maze and colourful swathes of wild flowers and oodles unusual woodland shrubs from all around the world.
Picton Castle itself consists of a majestic 13th century castle with a splendid Georgian wing that's guaranteed to get your little knights' and princesses' imaginations going! Guided tours span nearly 800 years of history, with inspiring family stories so if they're old enough to keep still and listen awhile the tour is really worth taking.
Back outside again, the children's woodland trail is super fun; they get to find the clues, solve the riddles and win a little prize! Plus the real maze is a brilliant challenge for all the family and the adventure playground is tonnes of fun. There are no ‘keep off the grass' signs at Picton Castle so you can stray where you will, enjoying the wonders of Nature as you go. A really pleasant day out with lots to see, do and learn. What more can you ask for?
