Attraction Information
Pennine Way National Trail is one of the most famous National Trails and was the first to open. A great place for upland walking with the kids through some beautiful landscapes such as the Yorkshire Dales and the Peak District.
There is plenty to see as the Trail passes through 20 Sites of Special Scientific Interest, 2 National Nature Reserves and 3 National Parks! It is one of the best places in Europe to spot birds such as breeding waders during the spring and early summer, because of the great variety of habitats the can be found.
The Trail is pretty long, so you may want to pick a section to explore for the day, or delve deeper with a walking holiday, but whichever you choose, there is plenty to see, including Hadrian's Wall, Cauldron Snout, Stoodley Pike (a 121ft, 37m high monument), and more.
You can also see High Force, the biggest waterfall in England at 70ft (21m) drop spectacularly into a plunge pool, visit the highest market town in England, and see some amazing geological features.
