Attraction Information
Pembrokeshire Coast Path National Trail covers almost every kind of maritime landscape, from open beaches and sheltered coves, to winding estuaries and rugged cliff tops. So there are plenty of places for the kids to explore.
The Trail lies almost completely within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, which is Britain's only coastal National Park, so there is a great range of bird life and coastal flowers, plus evidence of human activity since Neolithic times.
The landscape is rich in maritime history and the history of human occupation. Look out for Iron Age promontories, Neolithic cromlechs, plus the chapels and churches of early seafaring Celtic saints and their followers. There are also Norman castles and Napoleonic forts to discover, plus reminders of industrial tradition such as snail quays, warehouses and lime kilns.
If the kids want to find out more about the local history and culture, visit Tenby National Park Centre of Oriel y Parc Gallery and Visitor Centre. Both offer information, exhibitions and family activities.
