Attraction Information
Painswick Rococo Garden
The much beloved Painswick Rococo Garden was designed back in the 1740s as a rather flamboyant pleasure garden for entertaining guests at decadent garden parties. But these days it's much more valued as a fun day out with kids exploring the permanent and seasonal delights the grounds have to offer!
You will discover a stunning vegetable garden, beautiful views of the surrounding countryside worth taking a camera for, swathes of seasonal flora and fanciful garden buildings dotted about the landscape for the smalls to spot and imagine who lives there! You can lose yourselves amongst the lofty trees of their Leafy Woodland Walk and battle friends and family to find the centre of their rather unusual maze….
The Garden also contains a pleasing Nature Trail and a recently opened Bug Hotel: The Premier Inn Sect (groan!). From Easter through to October they ask all the younger visitors to try and help find their missing" mascot, Thomas Robins, along with his 14 friends who have hidden themselves away, scattered about around the grounds. A great way of keeping the smaller ones involved and engaged on the walk.
And afterwards should you wish, you can enjoy delicious homemade cakes or a light lunch in their cosy cafe. The cafe and shop are accessible for wheelchairs and there are disabled toilets provided, but as the Garden is set in a valley, the access is obviously not ideal.
