Attraction Information
Oswestry Town Museum is full of interesting exhibits that are brought to life by the friendly and informative volunteers who run this excellent little place.
Discover the history of Oswestry through a timeline exhibition that maps everything from the formation of rocks to present day. There are displays on a variety of subjects, such as Oswestry Town Football Club, and the geology of the area. You can also learn about Llanymynech Limeworks and the Welsh guards, plus there is a children's activity room. Kids will enjoy completing the quizzes and being able to handle and draw a number of interesting items.
There is a great section showing ‘now and then' images of Oswestry, which shows the changes to the town, plus an audiovisual presentation of the Battle of Crogen. The old Magistrate's Court displays the ‘Pegasus' stone, which was found in 2008 by the Highways department, and the Judges chamber has a curious collection of items from the Orthopaedic Hospital.
