Things To Do
The Historic Parkland
Step into a world where lush woodlands, bubbling streams, and vibrant meadows blend seamlessly to create a mesmerising tapestry of nature's beauty.

As you enter the estate and the country house, the scent of wildflowers wafts through the air, and the tranquil sound of the River Frome sets the tone for a calming escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Follow the winding nature trails that meander through the estate, leading you to hidden corners brimming with wildlife.

Spread out your blanket beneath the shade of ancient trees, beside the gentle riverbanks, or atop the rolling hills for panoramic views.
The woodland has all sorts of trees you can discover too. From cherry trees and mature trees to mature lime trees and even mature oak trees! Not forgetting the beautiful formal grounds, dramatic rock formations and a beautiful cascade of water features.

Riverside Delights
Head through an arch gateway and to the rock seat where you can enjoy a picturesque scene of the water. The glistening waters of the River Frome beckon for exploration, especially when you're walking and enjoying the river view.

Bring along nets and buckets for a fun-filled day of stream dipping, a thrilling activity that allows kids to discover fascinating aquatic creatures up close. The riverbanks are perfect for a leisurely stroll, with opportunities to spot ducks, swans, and other water-loving creatures. If the weather permits, pack a change of clothes and let the little ones splash in the shallows – a simple pleasure that promises endless giggles.

Children's Playground
Every child is welcome to play at this public park! You'll find accessible play equipment, a separate toddler play park and an adventure that older children will love too.
Oldbury Court has a play area centred on a water and sand play zone with a pirate play ship. You may need a towel and a change of clothes! As well as a cafe kiosk, you can get dizzy, swing, climb and balance all day long.

The play equipment for toddlers includes toddler swings, springy seesaws, springies, toddler spinners and embankment slides. Equipment for older children includes a dramatic rock feature with rope bridge, a slingshot, dish spinner, swings and zip wire. There is accessible play equipment as well.

The whole play area is fenced to be dog free and includes lots of natural play features including logs, boulders, a woodland den area, picnic tables and plenty of open grass to run around on. You'll also find a cricket pitch and a football pitch near the playground!
