Observatory Science Centre is a great place for your little science fans or indeed anyone who would like to learn some really cool facts! The centre is very hands on so that like all the best learning it happens while the kids discover, play and explore. There are large interactive exhibits in the garden designed to be a ‘science play ground' to explore concepts such as force, movement, sound and the world of water.
The permanent exhibits explore several subjects including astronomy, the Earth and beyond and Light and Colour. There are also different temporary exhibits on display.
During the Summer holidays, the centre has daily telescope tours and science shows at no additional charge, plus a variety of drop in activities and events are put on throughout the year.
There is so much for kids (and adults!) to see and do with plenty of information boards and helpful enthusiastic staff to explain complex ideas.
You may find that younger kids prefer the larger outdoor exhibits and older kids the more complicated subjects indoors but there is something to keep kids of all ages entertained.
