Oakham Treasures is one of the largest privately owned museums that is dedicated to retail and farming history in the UK! This vast unique attraction of memorabilia from the last century will fascinate everyone, whether you are 8 or 80!
The owner, Keith Sherrell, a 5th generation West Country farmer, began collecting farm machinery in the 60s as a sideline to his business, but it soon became a calling, and he now runs the museum with his wife and 2 daughters! He has spent years travelling the country and surfing on ebay to find the numerous items that you will see on your visit. The agricultural collection can be found in the Tractor and Farm Museum, while the retail collection has been divided into ‘shops' including the Grocery Store, Haberdashery, Chemist, and Sweet Shop!
The Grocery Store is the largest of the shops on display, and stocked from floor to ceiling behind original shop counters, providing a fascinating view of the large number of grocery brands from the 20th century. All the shops are packed with so many different items and brands, some of which will only be remembered by older visitors, giving a nostalgic trip down memory lane.
The Tractor museum houses around 150 old and vintage tractors, with examples from all around the world! There is also an impressive display of old farm engines, with many fine examples dating back to 1910. There is also an array of other farm equipment to spot, from a cider press to sheep shearers, a potato harvester to a hay and straw elevator, and much, much more!

What a fantastic place, took my husband and l back to our childhoods with lots of memories. Would highly recommend a visit and also recommend the coffee and walnut cake! Will definitely revisit and will probably see lots of things not noticed at first visit as there is so much to see.
