North Somerset Butterfly House is a secret paradise in the heart of the West Country where you can surround yourself with some of the world's most beautiful butterflies, massive moths, and exotic plants.
The indoor butterfly jungle is the perfect place for families to discover and explore tropical insects and plants, with an imaginatively laid out space to wander, plus plenty of seating if you want to sit back and watch all the wonderful butterflies.
There is also a lovely little waterfall, plus a pond full of terrapins to enjoy! Keep an eye out for caterpillars too, they can be quite tricky to find, but there are some helpful signs to help you and the kids in your search.
The adjoining workshop area provides a good educational (and interesting) space to enjoy amazing bug shows and find out lots of fascinating facts. The friendly staff also have plenty of information to share, and will be happy to show the kids points of interest, such as an example of the world's largest moth, or a silk cocoon!
It can get pretty hot in the butterfly house, but your ticket lasts for the day, so if you want to cool down for a bit, you can go back in to spend more time with your fluttering friends, who may even settle on you!
The Butterfly House is a bit hidden away, so you will have to weave your way through Mendip Conservatories, and past Heather's Coffee Shop, looking out for big butterflies to lead you to the car park!
