Attraction Information
Nantwich Outdoor Brine Pool is believed to be the only inland brine pool left in Britain today and is also the largest swimming pool in the area. It remains highly popular with swimmers of all ages who enjoy the unique nature of swimming outdoors, so be sure to turn up early on really sunny days as once it's full it's one in one out!
It used to be unheated but these days it is maintained at a cosy 74F (22C) so wetsuits aren't essential, you'll be fine in normal costumes if you'd prefer. It's open longer than many lidos though with season running May through October, so you might fancy that wetsuit after all at the latter end!
There is also an indoor pool with separate teaching pool that is open all year round, which also provides another option should you turn up and find the place heaving! Swimming lessons are also available in the indoor pool with pre-booking.
You're permitted to bring your own refreshments to the lido (there are vending machines available but that's it) so long as there's neither glass nor booze, so save the picnic mohitos for another time!
