Attraction Information
Museum of Norwich at the Bridewell is an ancient building that is packed with displays and collections that all the family will enjoy exploring!
You can catch a film at the mini cinema, check out a 1950s living room and listen to memories about the city shared by local people from a bygone age. Great for supporting school work if doing local history!
The different galleries will give the kids a great chance to learn about all aspects about the city that was the second largest in the country in the 1700s! Go Norwich! You can also learn about Bridewell itself, which used to be a prison and house of correction, so best ye behave ye-selves!
Many of the exhibits are hands on and interactive, which is a great way for kids to learn while having fun at the same time. There are listening points and even some smell stations which help tremendously in keeping the kids actively interested and are great fun to try!
Make sure you visit the Pharmacy exhibit and have a peek inside the drawers! The mini recreation of the Hippodrome is also worth seeing. It's not a flashy location but it's got substance instead, with plenty of detail for curious minds of all ages to be inspired by!
The museum is fully accessible for pushchairs and wheelchairs plus provides an accessible toilet, so with the range of multi sensory displays and handling opportunities this is an ideal trip for those with special needs, too!
