Murlough National Nature Reserve
Fringing one of Northern Ireland's most popular beaches equally delightful for visiting, this bay is overlooked by the scenic rounded peaks of the Mourne Mountains and offers a beautiful setting for your family adventure. And with BBQ areas and a grassy oath just for ball games, this can be as serene and exploratory or wild and adventurous as you choose to make it.
The fragile 6,000 year old sand dunes form the basis of Ireland's first Nature Reserve and are an excellent area for walking and wildlife.
There are a Children's nature trail quiz to follow and activity packs available so if the kids struggle with raw nature you can dilute it with some of that! Pick them up from the visitor reception, plus it's worth taking binoculars, sketch pads or cameras too to take full advantage of the views in whichever fashion suits them best.
