Attraction Information
Muir of Dinnet gives you a chance to see several different habitats and their wildlife all in one place.
You can wander through birch woodlands, watching for damselflies or visit the Burn O'Vat, which is a deep, water carved bowl of rock that you can enter and then rise through pinewoods and open countryside.
The four different trails all start from the Visitor Centre and range from 1.3km to 6km so you can choose the best one for you, whether you want a half an hour stroll or one that lasts half the day.
There is always something to see, whatever time of the year you visit. In Autumn the reserve turns gold and is full of wintering birds and fungi. Winter is a frosted wonderland with huge icicles, flocks of finches and if you are lucky you may see an otter.
Spring brings new leaves and delicate flowers and the return of swallows and willow warblers and Summer is full of honey scented heather, dragonflies and young birds and animals.
