Behold the hidden powers of the magical water in Mother Shipton’s Cave that turns all it touches to stone! Get ready to discover the wonders of England’s oldest visitor attraction, open since 1630.
First, explore the mysteries of the cave where Mother Shipton was born as lightning crackled and burned in a violent storm! Uncover the secrets of the UK’s most famous prophetess as you explore her home, maybe even stare deep down into the petrifying well that no one will go near as it's believed to have magical powers!
Don’t worry if you’re struggling to follow all the twists and turns of the story, there are audio boxes all around the Cave that also have a children's version too! Watch out though there is a statue hidden in a dark corner of the cave that always gives the everyone a little fright. If the little ones need to blow off a little steam, let them loose on the crazy adventure park. Before you leave don’t forget to make a wish in Mother Shipton’s magical well!

Mother Shiptons is closed for general admission until March, and are only open for their Christmas event.

Disabled visitors and Max Card holders receive a 15% discount if the relevant documentation is shown. Discounted tickets can be booked online only.

It is advised to wear suitable clothing for the cave and outside weather.
The attraction may not be suitable for people with impaired mobility. A single adult with a pushchair may experience some difficulty depending on the design of the pushchair. There is no wheelchair access. The historic woodland walk is undulating and the walk unsurfaced and slightly uneven in places.
Parking is £2.00 in addition to admission, payable on entrance only. Parking cannot be guaranteed during busy periods.
