Attraction Information

Moss Bank Park is a beautiful park managed by Bolton Council. With its gorgeous lake, lush green trees, and variety of outdoor activities, Moss Bank is a popular park. It is an ideal destination for a peaceful day out. From children's play areas to boating and bird watching to picnics, the park offers something for everyone. Visitors can enjoy a leisurely stroll or take advantage of some of the facilities.

All parents know first-hand how stressful it can be keeping your kids entertained on a tight budget. Thankfully, excellent parks like Moss Bank Park exist and they are completely free to enter! So, you can let your kids roam free in the great outdoors without being out of pocket!

Things to do 

The Hive Children's Play Area

This is an urban park with plenty of fun filled activities for children. There are a variety of children's playgrounds to choose from. So your kids can enjoy running around and exploring.

The Hive is a wonderful playground designed with pre - schoolers and under 7s in mind. It is a combinations of different garden areas and natural play equipment. Children are encouraged to build connections with nature by doing self-led play activities such as den building, bug hunting and playing in the mud kitchen. There is an additional charge to access the natural play features of The Hive area, with a family season pass available to purchase.

Gardens 

There is a formal walled garden with seasonal displays which is open all year round. The rock gardens are well kept by volunteers and show lots of trees, flowers and plants.

Moss Bank Miniature Railway

To find Moss Bank Park Miniature Railway walk towards the picnic area near the bowling green. There are also park toilets near here too. This is such a lovely addition to the park. Kids will love riding on the mini steam train admiring all the green space of the park as they choo choo past. All aboard!

Fairground Rides 

During the Summer months children can enjoy all the fun of the fair with a selection of fairground favourites available to ride at this lovely park. There is a small extra charge for rides.

Cafe at Moss Bank

Take time to watch the world go by and enjoy a coffee or ice cream treat for the kids at the onsite restaurant. Classic meals such as traditional English breakfast and homemade pies are on the menu. There's also lighter options with sandwiches and soups available. The cafe has lovely views of the park and takeaways can be purchased if you're in a hurry. 

Sporting Facilities 

As a public park there are a variety of sport facilities available. Is your little one the next Ronaldo? Let them loose on the huge football pitch or for your little Sharapova, bring a racket along for a couple of matches on one of the parks tennis courts. Play frisbee, volleyball or let your little ones practice their cartwheels on the huge grounds, the possibilities are endless at this iconic park.
