When walking into the celebrated Cathedral Close in Salisbury, you and yours will step back in time, especially if you're a fan of the award winning film Sense and Sensibility, which was partially filmed here!
The tranquil atmosphere of the house is enhanced by the magnificent plasterwork, fine period furniture and graceful oak staircase, the main features of this perfectly proportioned Queen Anne era house. And their Turnbull collection of 18th century drinking glasses is apparently of national importance...
Their delightful walled garden has a pergola that makes a nice backdrop for a family photos, and traditionally planted herbaceous borders, but more excitingly also features a new contemporary sculpture garden too! A great place for a wander around with the smalls and grandparents, so try and time it for a sunny (ish!) day to really get the maximum from the visit.
There is a children's guide available at reception to help the small folk stay active, interested and informed! There's plenty of room to run about outside too, ad there are some seasonal events and activities laid on throughout the year which are always family oriented.
