For the kids, the highlight will probably be the4 adventure playgrounds! The Forest Castle is nestled in the trees, The Steeplechase is a natural course set among the trees and beck to race round. Squirrel Island is for under 11s with a play house and tyre and toddler swings and The Forest Hazard Course gives 12 to 16 year olds more of a challenge!
You can also explore the Heather path maze in the Bee Garden or complete the Poetry Walk, passing through a rhododendron tunnel or the Family Nature trail which is free with admission. The house is worth a peek, particularly if the rain sets in in your day out.
The Family Nature trail is free with admission . This trail is a walk of about half a mile and goes through the woods and gardens at Mirehouse helping children to keep a look out for red squirrels, rabbits and a variety of trees and plants.
