Spot historic buildings, vintage vehicles, a Victorian arcade, Milestones pier and more! Live out your childhood memories in this detailed recreation of life from Victorian times through to the 1930s and 1940s, you can travel the cobbled streets of yesteryear. It's the perfect day out for kids & their grandparents.
Run by Hampshire Cultural Trust, Milestones is split across two levels with plenty to see and do. From vintage Thornycroft vehicles to the milliner, saddler, ironmonger and more, you’ll get a fascinating look at how people in Basingstoke and the surrounding areas used to live.

Things to Do
Walk the immersive streets, spotting life-sized buildings, actual shops and vehicles recreation and restored as they would have been in olden times. Tuck into sweeties in the 1940's sweet shop, Abrahams - you can pick up a ration of sweets!
Looking for something stronger? Grab a pint at The Baverstock Arms! Milestones also has two further options for refreshments – vintage tea tendering cakes and a selection of drinks. Plus, The Rooftops Café, is a larger space serving meals such as classic fish and chips, children’s options and lighter bites.
There’s plenty for all ages to see and do, including a charming Teddy Bear Museum and a fantastic penny arcade. Stroll along the boardwalk, learn all about the history of piers and view the traditional seaside scenes. Laugh at your friends in the postcard-style photo opportunities and wacky mirrors just like you would at the actual seaside! There are vintage arcade games from claw grabbers and shove pennies to enjoy, plus Pac-Man and table football.

Milestones are built on three levels with cobbled floors and tramlines in the Victorian and Edwardian parts of the museum.
Some difficulty may be experienced by wheelchair users in this area. The 1930s area is flat, although some parts of the flooring are textured.
Both areas have pavements with dropped kerbs.
Assistance dogs are welcome.
There are seven allocated accessible parking spaces near the main entrance and space available for coaches and minibuses. Parking spaces for blue badge holders do not need to be booked in advance.
The main doors into the museum are double-width and open automatically.
There are two lifts available, one on either side of the main stairs.
Accessible toilets can be found on both entrance and museum floor levels.
Travelling & Parking for Visitors
If you are travelling by car, you will exit the M3 at junction 6 or 7. Follow signs for the town centre and brown tourist signs for the Leisure Park and Milestones. Enter the Leisure Park at Entrance B, signposted Milestones.
There is free car parking available in front of the museum!
