It’s not quite a yellow submarine but all aboard the Mersey Ferry River Explorer Cruise! Cross the iconic Mersey River - from Penny Lane to the Strawberry Fields - and learn all about Liverpool and its musical, maritime past.
From the deck of this legendary ferry (also known as the Snowdrop) see the ever evolving waterfront. It’s now considered a UNESCO World Heritage site and on a sunny day looks quite spectacular. The on-board team have a whole cargo of Mersey memories to share, like tales of smuggling or The Beatles’ 1960s performance on the Riverboat Shuffle. Their commentary will bring the past to life as you hop off and on at various historic spots.
Hear stories of dazzle camouflage used to confuse the enemy in World War I, as well as the Mersey Ferries' role in those turbulent times. The ferry itself was designed by Sir Peter Blake - the artist behind The Beatles' Sgt. Pepper’s album - and is far and away the best way to explore the city.
