Attraction Information
There is a great range of terrains and landscaping to explore at Lower Leas Coastal Park, with it being separated into The Wild Zone, The Fun Zone and The Formal Zone.
The Wild Zone is as implied, a less rigorously landscaped section allowed to overgrow more naturally, so this is the best walking spot for those on mini beast safaris and leaf collecting. Don't let the kids misunderstand and think it's a wildlife area.
The Fun Zone boasts the largest free access adventure play area in the south east region with rocking boats, climbing walls, zip lines, tube and traditional slides, plus enclosed toddler construction area also featuring sand diggers and a shipwreck play structure! Did you catch all that?! There's also a dedicated set of wheelchair accessible equipment which is excellent for keeping everyone feeling welcome and involved, plus an Amphitheatre, a novelty Zig Zag Path and a Storytelling Area, this latter mainly being utilised for school holiday programming but also now and again on special occasion. Why not take a book about a park adventure and have your own storytelling session there?
The Formal Zone features landscaped walks heavy on the purty blooms with educational horticultural information boards, and including major cycle routes to so why not bring the bikes along!? There is also a cafe there if you've left the picnic hamper at home.
