Attraction Information
You can find the charming Lichfield Heritage Museum (also known as The Lichfield Story) inside the rather grander milieu of St Mary's in the Market Square, from which - if you can manage to book yourselves on a spire tour - you can achieve outstanding views of the Lichfield Cathedral! Bear in mind though that it's pretty high, so give smalls ones some thought before embarking, for number of steps as well as the building height!
This enthusiastically comported Museum tells the story of 2000 years of Lichfield's rich history and features a mix of static and audio visual displays, varied exhibitions and over 12,000 historic photographs to take visitors on a veritable journey through time! You can view regal displays of silver from the City, Diocese and Staffordshire Regiment and see a thousand years of history represented in the unique The Staffordshire Millennium Embroideries alone: amazing!
If you think your smaller or more fidgety children may struggle to stay engaged then pick up a form at the Visitor Welcome Desk and have a go at following the Mousehole Trail, where keen eyed kids can follow small images of Mary Mouse and hidden numbers all around the whole place. Answer Miss Mouse's questions and colour in the pictures to claim a little prize!
