Attraction Information
Leece Museum is in a really old house that is painted yellow, so it is easy to spot!
The displays are crammed with animal bones, pots, jars, old coins, miniature ships and more. There are a number of items that have been found by divers at the bottom of the sea, plus a birch bundle that was used to discipline naughty youngsters!
This is a real, old fashioned museum with The cellar used to be a gaol and you will see models representing the prisoners that used to be held in the murk and gloom. Crime doesn't pay kids! There are plenty of other things to check out such as interesting photos, models and artefacts.
You will find out about subjects such as boat building and fishing, both the World Wars, plus a section all about Law and Order and how each of them affected the inhabitants of the island.
Great place to spend at least an hour finding out the rich history of the Isle of Man.
