Attraction Information
Lakeland Miniature Village features over 100 buildings made from local Coniston slate, all of which have been carefully handcrafted with hand tools only, no machinery! This provides a fascinating insight into the historic buildings of Lakeland, all created by one man.
This is a lovely little place to spend half an hour or so, marvelling at these lovely little buildings, which depict farms and Cumbrian houses, including classics such as the home of Beatrix Potter, Hill Top. There is also a replica of Slater's Bridge, with the adjoining Clapper Bridge spanning over 50ft (15.24m)! If you know the Lake District, you will recognise a number of places as you go round.
The miniature village has been growing for over 22 years, so there is often something new to see, plus there are water features throughout the village to enjoy. The village also has an Oriental Building, which is their display area, and overlooks an attractiveOriental Garden.
There is a quiz to complete as you explore all the marvellous miniatures, plus there are informative signs that tell you about each building and their history.
