Attraction Information

Kingswood Heritage Museum is an exciting museum that is housed in an 18th century brass mill at Warmley. The museum also has gardens to explore, which contains a number of interesting features to discover. Plenty of interactive exhibits, plus wonderful displays and interesting artefacts, making for a fascinating family day out.

William Champion's Zinc and Brass Works was probably the largest industrial site in Europe during the 18th century, and an interpretation of the site can be seen in the first gallery of the museum. You will also discover details about the zinc and brass making process, and learn all about William Champion, including how he made a fortune and then lost it all!

You can also find out about the early Medieval history of the King's Wood, view finds from a Roman British settlement discovered during road works, and find out how women (and children!) toiled in their homes making pins.

Once you have filled your heads with fascinating facts in the museum, you can explore the gardens, which contain one of the largest Ice Houses in the country, and one of the tallest, oldest, and most complete windmill towers in the country! There are mysterious grottoes to explore, Echo Pond, and what remains of the lake, plus the castellated Summer House, and a huge statue of Neptune, known locally as the ‘Warmley giant'!
