Attraction Information
Kielder Castle Visitor Centre is now home to a variety of exhibitions to enjoy, but it used to be the hunting lodge for the Duke of Northumberland.
This is a great place to test your mountain biking skills or to pick up a trail, using the trail maps that are available. If you didn't bring your own bike, your can hire or even buy one here too.
You can bike or take a walk along the Lakeside Way as you keep your eyes peeled for red squirrels, rode deer and pipistrelle bats, some of the Kielder “Super Six”! There is a red squirrel room to visit and find out more, plus a great viewing hide to give you a better chance of seeing them.
You can also discover the life cycle of salmon at the Kielder Salmon Centre, and take a look at the Forest Exhibition to find out more about this beautiful Water and Forest Park.
You can also drive along the longest forest drive in the UK, although this is a toll road, so there will be an additional charge.
