Attraction Information
At Jeppe Hein Appearing Rooms the work of Danish artist Jeppe Hein often combines sculpture with architecture and technology to playfully solicit direct participation and none more so than this series of rising water walls one can't help but dart through! Great fun for all ages during it's seasonal appearance.
Hein's aquatic sculpture Appearing Rooms was originally commissioned for the garden of the Villa Manin, Italy. It's a fantastically unusual and immersive bit of artwork that's perfect for families to enjoy together, just be sure to take a change of clothes and at least one towel each, because it's really tempting to go back in again and again!
Appearing Rooms can be found on Level 2 Terrace at the Southbank Centre. The feature was first installed at Southbank Centre in 2007, and has returned almost every year though it's not clear if 2016 will be one of them, so watch this space and if you find out for sure, let us know!
And of course you're on the south bank of the capital, so there are loads and loads of things to do with the kids around. Why not hit up our listings and plan yourself a glorious day in the big smoke with this wet play adventure scheduled for the hottest part of the day!?
