James Hamilton Heritage Park is a 4 Star Visit Scotland accredited activity centre just waiting to get you started on your next new adrenaline hobby and family favourite! The charming park features a 16 acre loch which provides beautifully tranquil surroundings for their exciting range of water sports, from canoeing to windsurfing! Taster sessions are handily available so that you can all get a feel for various water sports and both junior and adult courses are provided to help you progress. There are several options available so it's good for repeat visits to try out the other stuff too!
Their 2 adventure playgrounds are also star attractions and offer a wealth of sturdy and fun physical play equipment generally suited to 2 to 10s. There is also a popular fleet of fun boats for hire which can be really nice for kids and they can also offer your little ornithologists some excellent bird watching opportunities from the bird sanctuary.
There's also just quiet accessible space in which to walk a buggy so you can bring all the ages down to James Hamilton and the distance around the loch perimeter path is 3 quarters or a mile, enough for a nice stroll with the baby while everyone else gets wet and noisy! Oh wait - the baby does that too!

We had a Lovely Walk round the Loch! There are ducks, swans and geese and grazing sheep in nearby FirlDs for The kids to spot. Theres a small park for little ones. Only thing is its quite exposed and there arent many trees so if the weather isnt behaving it can get a bit Much. The wee cafe Is lovely with sweet treats available.
