Attraction Information
The Isle Of Wight Donkey Sanctuary has been a home for rescued donkeys since the 80s and they welcome families to explore the sanctuary and visit the current residents, who are always happy to see you! It's free to visit and get an insight into animal rescue, with donations warmly welcomed once you've seen their good works.
Unusually they also welcome friendly family hounds to come along on your visit provided that they are well behaved throughout as apparently the donkeys like them! Walkies!
There are plenty of special events and activities to attend seasonally, including a Dog Show, numerous Christmas events, and a variety of Open Days with stalls and led games to enjoy. A terrific way to pop the cherry on the top of your day out!
If the kids were moved by the plight of the donkeys, why not have a look while you're there at the Donkey Adoption scheme? Along the usual lines of your funds supporting a particular animal, kids receive a Certificate of Adoption, colour photograph of their donkey, plus summer and winter newsletters. A worthwhile way to support the cause.
