Attraction Information
Inverness Ice Centre
With a whopping 5 rink system and a great tuition record this centre is the perfect place for beginners to get started, not just at standard skating but any other kind they like too! They have some handy heavy skating aids in the form of penguins with handles to whom kids can cling while they find their feet: a back saver! However, it's only half an hour at a time hire on those as experts recommend kids move on from them fairly quickly to avoid becoming dependent on them!
You can also get in on some ice hockey here, from training through to proper games, plus they have free introductory curling sessions often available to have a try at too! It's also worth noting that they offer a wheelchair curling group as well so disabled folks can get access to the action too.
Ice skating is a great activity for active families to do together which is not only fun and entertaining but also increases fitness, balance and grace. What's not to like?! Everybody starts out like Bambi but most kids take to it every bit as fast as roller skating.
And it's worth bearing in mind that you'll be right next to Bught Playing fields where football, rugby and shinty are played! So there's a nice sporty way to extend your day right beside the centre, or indeed as an alternative to keep half the group busy while the other half skate. Everybody's happy!
