And colourful butterflies are the way to go!<\/p>\n<p>You\u2019ll need:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Colouring felt tips, pens or crayons<\/li>\n<li>A pencil<\/li>\n<li>Scissors<\/li>\n<li>PVA glue<\/li>\n<li>1 Piece of white card<\/li>\n<li>Multiple pieces of coloured card<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>1. First, fold your white piece of card in half, that will be the Mother&#8217;s Day card for your mom!<\/p>\n<p>2. Grab a pencil and draw a large 3 on a coloured piece of card, and then another large 3, the opposite way to the first one, so they join up. This will make your butterfly! Draw as many as you want, as long as they join up.<\/p>\n<p>3. Then with your parent&#8217;s supervision, cut out your butterflies. Then you can use all the colours you want and create all sorts of patterns on them!<\/p>\n<p>4. Once you&#8217;ve decorated your insects, fold them up in half lengthways. So, it looks like they&#8217;re flapping their wings.<\/p>\n<p>5. After folding, use PVA glue to stick them onto the white piece of card. Make sure to only glue the folded edge. So, their wings can still flap!<\/p>\n<p>6. First, draw a plant stem, with leaves, on your piece of card using the colouring pens (try to use green!)<\/p>\n<p>2. At the top of each step, draw a circle using the yellow pen. Colour it in afterwards!<\/p>\n<p>3. Dip your fingertip in whichever colour paint you like and print them all around the circle. This creates the flower petals!<\/p>\n<p>4. Using a felt tip pen, draw the word &#8216;wow&#8217;, making sure the bottom of the letters reach up to the edge of the card (not the folded edge). Look at our example of how to draw the &#8216;wow&#8217;!<\/p>\n<p>3. Once you&#8217;ve finished, cut around the letters. Unfold your card and you should have a &#8216;wow, mom&#8217; craft!<\/p>\n<p>4. If you like, decorate the card in whichever way you want. But it&#8217;s a <strong>super fun project<\/strong> and Mother&#8217;s Day craft for kids, that will make the cheeky monsters happy when they can get their <strong>hands dirty<\/strong> with this clay modelling craft!<\/p>\n<p>You&#8217;ll need:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Make some salt dough. We have an easy-peasy <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dayoutwiththekids.co.uk\/hub\/things-to-do\/salt-dough-recipe\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">recipe<\/a> for you!<\/li>\n<li>Clay paint<\/li>\n<li>Glitter (if you don&#8217;t mind getting messy!)<\/li>\n<li>Some ribbon<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>1. Using an adult&#8217;s help, make your salt dough!<\/p>\n<p>2. Once you&#8217;ve made it, roll a piece of dough into a 2cm thick circle.<\/p>\n<p>3. Place your hand on the edge of the circle and make sure it&#8217;s fully indented in the dough. But make sure it doesn&#8217;t rip! Then use a straw to make a hole at the top of the circle.<\/p>\n<p>4. If you have time, once your handprint is etched into the dough leave it to dry all day. If not, ask an adult to pop it in the oven for 1-2 hours at 120 degrees.<\/p>\n<p>5. After it&#8217;s baked, use some clay paint to paint the ornament. Then if you want to add some glitter, layer up some PVA glue in the handprint and sprinkle all the glitter you want! Tip the ornament on some newspaper to let the excess glitter fall off and let it dry.<\/p>\n<p>6. Once dried, thread through a ribbon in the hole you made earlier.<\/p>\n<p>And there you have it! Many kids enjoy crafting with them as they\u2019re something a bit different to their normal craft supplies.<\/p>\n<p>You\u2019ll need:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cupcake cases<\/li>\n<li>A sheet of card for the base<\/li>\n<li>Green card for the stems and leaves<\/li>\n<li>Mini pom poms<\/li>\n<li>Glue stick<\/li>\n<li>Scissors<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>1. Start by cutting some green strips of cards to use as stems and cut out some leaf shapes too!<\/p>\n<p>2. Stick these onto the sheet of the card using a glue stick.<\/p>\n<p>3. Next, glue a cupcake case onto the top of each stem.<\/p>\n<p>4. For our flowers, we then cut petal shapes into another cupcake case and glued these on top of the first case.<\/p>\n<p>5. Once the cupcake cases are stuck down, add the pom poms into the centre of each flower.<\/p>\n<p>And there you have it! Whether it&#8217;s for older kids or younger ones.<\/p>\n<p>You&#8217;ll need:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>White air-dry clay<\/li>\n<li>Gold acrylic paint<\/li>\n<li>Rolling pin<\/li>\n<li>Baking paper<\/li>\n<li>Knife<\/li>\n<li>Small bowl<\/li>\n<li>Clingfilm<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>1. First using a rolling pin, roll out your clay on a piece of baking paper (this is so the clay won&#8217;t stick). Make sure the clay is 1.5cm thick.<\/p>\n<p>2. Now it&#8217;s time for the fun part! Have your child place their feet on the clay in a heart shape. This can be done by placing the heels almost together and the feet sticking out the side. Make sure even the tiny toes have been imprinted into the clay.<\/p>\n<p>3. Once that&#8217;s done, carefully cut out a heart shape around the footprints using a knife. Make sure to leave a border around the footprint, so they&#8217;ll be framed. If your edges are a little ragged, dip your finger in cold water and smooth down the edges.<\/p>\n<p>4. Then place the clay piece in a small bowl to dry (and keep its shape). You can wrap the bowl in clingfilm so it&#8217;ll be easier to take the clay piece out of the bowl when it&#8217;s dried.<\/p>\n<p>5. When your clay bowl is completely dry (this could take a day), use the gold acrylic paint, to paint the footprints. The white clay and the gold paint will really complement each other!<\/p>\n<p>When it&#8217;s dry, you have yourself an amazing craft keepsake, your mom can use as a jewellery dish!
