What is Day Out With Thomas at Whistlestop Valley?

Day Out With Thomas is a listed event at Whistlestop Valley, which is also known as Kirklees Light Railway. The venue’s newsletter confirms that its final event of 2026 takes place on 10 and 11 October.

For families with a Thomas fan, that gives you a specific date to consider. However, the information available does not describe the event programme or confirm what your ticket includes.

Before booking, check the actual experience rather than relying on the event name. Ask which activities are included, whether anything needs a separate reservation and whether the booking involves a timed arrival.

That detail matters when you explain the day to your child. We would keep promises simple until you have the programme, especially if they are looking forward to a particular character encounter or railway activity.

The venue also lists Halloween Ghost Train and Villain Academy. These are separate listings, so do not assume they form part of Day Out With Thomas admission.

When is Day Out With Thomas in 2026, and what are the opening times?

The final Day Out With Thomas event of 2026 is on 10 and 11 October. The newsletter says tickets are still available, but that is a newsletter update rather than a live availability check.

Opening times, last admission and any timed booking arrangements are not given in the available information. Check those details before deciding when to leave home.

Check the event schedule before setting off

Your booking confirmation should be your starting point for arrival instructions. If anything is unclear, ask the venue whether your selected time means entry, an activity start or another part of the event.
